Our Story

An A shouldn’t cost £40 an hour

As a community interest company, we reinvest our profits so you don’t pay above the odds.

Tutor Eagle started in 2020.

In 2020, two sixth-form students, Adrian and Socks, started what was initially a YouTube channel. Originally called ‘Programmatic Flying’ we founded the company on the belief that you shouldn’t have to be rich to do well. We’re still 100% student governed and run, and we’re asset locked with our parent company – Programmatic Flying, which again, is 100% student governed and run.

Going to a school in a small town in Kent, we both saw the effect that the wage gap didn’t just affect a families ability to afford food, but it also their educational attainment. Particularly over lockdown, we realised the amount of young people who did not have access to good education outside of school.

Since then, Tutor Eagle has helped students across the UK and even abroad across the Caribbean achieve the grades they want. We’re currently going through a restructuring process, setting up an asset lock to ensure we can continue to be transparent.

We help children and young people achieve.

We found out that those who could afford £40 per-hour tuition lessons did better than those who couldn’t, which directly affected an areas attainment levels as well (Source; Office for Students, 2022). Which is why we started a company with the sole aim to increase attainment and help young people achieve their goals, whatever they may be.

The argument still stands that our educational system needs reform, but until it happens, Year 9-13 are the most important years in someones life; and how they do at GCSE is usually directly influenced by the foundation of their education in primary school.

The 4 I Plan

As part of the Programmatic Flying Group, our shared values permeate our organisation, guiding how we should govern and run our company and services.

Independent

We don’t just teach our students subject knowledge, we also teach them how to learn independently.

Innovative

We utilise cutting-edge technologies to ensure students get the best learning experience, such as our carefully curated ‘learning portal’.

Inclusive

Homogeneity is boring. We believe that fair representation is a cornerstone of our society, and our policies ensure this.

Individualised

One size doesn’t fit all. Our tuition approach involves learning assessments to create a bespoke learning plan using SMART goals.
