Academic Integrity Policy and Terms and Conditions

Hey, we're Tutor Eagle. We're a partnership, registered in London, England.

Our registered business address is 3 Oakshaw Road, Wandsworth, London, SW18 3BS. If you need to contact us for any legal reasons, please use the information here. Also, unless otherwise stated, everything on the website is copyright TutorEagle and, lastly, make sure you see a padlock in the site menu bar in your browser - that's how you know you're on the secure TutorEagle website.

We've got two policies you must accept to have an account with us, our academic integrity policy which outlines what plagiarism is and what your responsibilities are; and our terms and conditions, also found here. Essentially, they list what Tutor Eagle and the partners (“us”, “we”, or “our”) can do, and what you (or the "user") can do.

Academic Integrity Policy

What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the “wrongful appropriation” and “stealing and publication” of another author’s “language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions” and the representation of them as one’s own original work. JCQ strongly condemn such illegal form of copying. TutorEagle also condemn such copying, and will work with all examination boards to prevent such malpractice.

Instances of malpractice arise for a variety of reasons

  • some incidents are intentional and aim to give an unfair advantage in an examination or assessment;
  • some incidents arise due to a lack of awareness of the regulations, carelessness, or forgetfulness in applying the regulations;
  • some occur as a result of the force of circumstances which are beyond the control of those involved.

Irrespective of the underlying cause or the people involved, all allegations of malpractice in relation to examinations and assessments need to be investigated. This is to protect the integrity of the qualification and to be fair to the centre and all candidates. TutorEagle will prosecute anyone who plagiarises content on this website, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

What constitutes plagiarism?

There are many different actions that constitute plagiarism from TutorEagle. These include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Turning in TutorEagle, or anyone else’s work as your own;
  • Putting your name on an essay or project provided or published by us or anyone else;
  • Copying words or ideas from TutorEagle or anyone else without giving citation.
  • Failing to put a quotation in quotation marks;
  • Giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation;
  • Changing words but copying the sentence structure of content on a website, including the TutorEagle website, without giving citation;

Changing the words of an original source is not sufficient to prevent plagiarism. If you have retained the essential idea of an original source, and have not cited it, then no matter how drastically you may have altered its context or presentation, you have still plagiarised. Most cases of plagiarism can be avoided, however, by citing sources.

Simply acknowledging that certain material has been borrowed, and providing your audience with the information necessary to find that source, is usually enough to prevent plagiarism.

By using the TutorEagle website, you certify that

  • Users are fully aware that plagiarism is illegal and wrong, and users know that plagiarism is the use of another person’s idea or published work and to pretend that it is one’s own.
  • Users declare that each contribution to their work or project to their exam centre have been acknowledged and source of information from other peoples’ published or unpublished works, including the TutorEagle website, have been cited referenced.
  • Users certify that they are solely responsible for text of the article and work included in the article along with any incomplete reference.
